NAMSS Leadership Certificate Program In-Person Course

The NAMSS Leadership Certificate Program In-person course is designed for MSPs dedicated to the field to expand on their experiences and gain the skills, confidence, and industry understanding to be stronger leaders within the industry. This course is a continuation of the online portion of the program (Participants are required to complete the online portion of this program in order to participate in the in-person course). This in-person course will focus on a variety of topics, including team leadership (continued from online module), negotiations (continued from online module), critical thinking, and communications skills.

Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) Certification Preparation Course

The NAMSS Credentialing Specialist Certification Preparation Workshop is a two-day interactive program designed to help you assess your knowledge of the CPCS exam content and identify areas in which additional study is necessary before you take the exam. This comprehensive workshop provides a high-level overview of the exam topics including credentialing and privileging; primary source verification; compliance with standards; and medical staff services operations reviewed from the perspective of a variety of health care settings including hospitals, managed care organizations, ambulatory care settings and CVOs. Participants will work through a series of interactive activities including scenario-based exercises and case studies supplemented with in-class learning facilitated by experienced NAMSS instructors. A key focus of the course is your development of a personalized study plan for post-workshop study and preparation to take the examination. The course includes pre-workshop preparation materials which you will need to complete prior to class and access to comprehensive supplementary resources to help you prepare for the exam.

This course builds on the foundation of Credentialing 101 and goes beyond the credentialing procedures to explore common challenges faced by credentialing managers. Topics include: developing successful onboarding programs for new practitioners; implementing efficient procedures for managing credentialing databases; improving collaboration with other departments; determining best ways to assess and respond to low/no volume practitioners; developing effective procedures to integrate new services, service lines, and additional privileges; responding appropriately to impaired and/or disruptive practitioners; and justifying and developing successful proposals for additional FTEs.
